Friends of Bethlehem School is a new group formed in order to help the school better deliver planned projects for which funding is not currently available. A generous group of businesses and families, sourced by PTA members, have made donations to the school which will enable the learning environment and facilities of Bethlehem School to be improved. Planned projects include classroom resources, enviroschools projects, IT equipment, sunshades, senior sandpit, heating upgrades, astroturf, and more. The generosity of the Friends is much appreciated by the children, staff and families of the school. We would like to thank the following Friends of Bethlehem School for 2009...

Heaven Boutique
HEAVEN BOUTIQUE OWNER JULIE BOURKE is passionate about fashion and having recently returned from ten years in Uruguay with partner Fernando, and sons Niko (10) and Luka (7) she not only added to her family with the arrival of baby Cruz in August 2008, but made herself even busier by opening her gorgeous new store. “I am aware of the economic climate and I want to make sure my clients feel current in their clothing without being pushed into an expensive buy, and that what they buy is multitasking for them”. You will find Julie herself is stylish and a pleasure to spend time with as she zips busily about her beautiful store, combining pieces and creating perfect ensembles for clients. She even has plans for a Heaven Basics range in the not too distant future. The Bethlehem Town Centre has a relaxed family feel to it and local residents and other store owners pop in and out too. Heaven Boutique really does seem to be where it’s happening. Go along and find out for yourself… the doors are open.

United Travel
The time has simply whizzed by since our exciting opening day in MAY 2008.We have enjoyed creating fabulous itineraries and strived to fulfil holiday dreams and exceed expectations for all our clients.
Our decision to set up a brand new United travel outlet in the Bethlehem Town Centre has been welcomed by Bethlehem locals and the wider community as a convenient alternative with easy parking and good accessibility. We wanted to be "right on your back door step" and your first choice in travel suppliers. Our store is a "new look" concept. Minimalistic, bright, fresh and trendy with beautiful Bob Tulloch photography adorning the wall, and not a travel brochure in sight. This gives us the perfect opportunity to select the right product and individualise holidays and travel requirements for you.
Today's market is very competitive and we have a range of properties in all destinations with appropriate solutions to suit all budgets. There has never been so much airline activity stimulating the market, as there is, in this current environment. Come in and let us know if you are thinking of travelling, even if you are only in the "thinking about it" mode, as we can keep you on our list and give you a call if anything comes out which might be exactly what you are wanting.
United Travel at Bethlehem is always looking at positive ways that we can make a valuable contribution to our community, to support those who support us. We currently sponsor Business through premier awards with the Chamber of Commerce and Bay of Plenty Export Institute. We also contribute to Project Hope and the Child Cancer Foundation. Along with the SPCA , and local Bowls and Golf Clubs, we contribute to a number of local schools through newsletters and fund raising.
We aim to play an active role in our community. Kind regards, Louise Riddy, Manager, United Travel at Bethlehem

Vetcare Ltd
VetCare Tauranga at 182 Moffat Road, Bethlehem is the only practice in Tauranga which has a BEST PRACTICE™ accreditation, a New Zealand-wide standard set up by the New Zealand Veterinary Association.
“We are a comprehensive companion animal clinic,” says veterinarian, Campbell Johnston. “We do a lot of referrals for other vets in the Bay especially orthopaedics”. And they are one of only six practices throughout New Zealand who offer a specialised stifle repair surgery, (known as TPLO) a ligament repair of the knee.
They also carry out a lot of chemotherapy on animals, and are equipped to do in-house blood tests.
Having veterinarians and vet nurses with excellent knowledge providing quality, wide-ranging care and advice, and using state of the art equipment means the surgery is fully equipped to handle most scenarios.
Vet Nurse clinics handle such care as basic grooming, nutrition consults, “slim fit” weight loss programmes, dental checks, nail clips and puppy and kitten advice, but an appointment must be made for this.
Providing a service 24 hours a day, seven days a week is ideal, as pets do not become sick to a timetable and knowing you can call a vet when your pet is ill or injured takes a lot of stress out of a situation.
VetCare is a total service as they also sell premium foods, worm products, flea treatment, shampoo, toys and much more for your pet, at very reasonable prices, “Everything to make your pet look and feel the best,” says Campbell.
