Middle Syndicate's Fun Day Out
Posted by Regan Scarfe on Monday, 15 December 2008
After working hard all year, the Middle Sydnicate kids and Room 15 headed off to Baywave this morning for our Fun Day. The kids really enjoyed their swim and the hydro slide. We were very lucky that the weather gods held out for us so we could also enjoy lunch at Pilot Bay along with a play in the sand before a lesiurely wonder around Mauao. It was a great day and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

Water Fun
Posted by Regan Scarfe on Friday, 12 December 2008
Yesterday Room 8 and Room 9 had a fun afternoon in the pool. It was a beautiful, hot day and by the afternoon a splash in the pool was a very welcome reprieve from the heat. The kids also enjoyed zooming along our waterslide.

Fireworks Art
Posted by Regan Scarfe on Monday, 8 December 2008
A couple of weeks ago Mrs Fairbairn came into Room 9 and did some fire work art with the kids. They used pastels and crayons to draw the fireworks. Then, they shook glitter on top of their pastel to make their fireworks sparkle. The finished fireworks art looks really cool.

Radishes
Posted by Regan Scarfe on Wednesday, 3 December 2008

In Term 3, Room 9 decided to plant some radishes in their new garden. About a month later Room 9 walked out to their garden and picked the radishes. Mickey chopped and cleaned the radishes in the staffroom while the children were busy work. Just before Room 9 went out to have their lunch, Mr Scarfe walked in and handed out pieces of radishes. Most of the children tried a piece of radish but didn’t finish them because they didn’t like them. Nearly everyone screamed “YUCK! BLAH! GROSS! DISCASTING! GET IT OUT!!!” Half the class walked out of the classroom with a disgusting taste in their mouths and a bitten radish in their hand.

Flower Day
Posted by Regan Scarfe on Friday, 21 November 2008

On the 24th of October 2008 Bethlehem School had a flower day. The children could choose if they wanted to make a grass man/animal, sand saucer or a mini garden. They had to choose 2 things to make and they needed to bring lots of flowers. Lots of children chose the mini garden. They brought figures and houses, rocks, a saucer and lots of other decorations to put in their mini garden. Some of the children chose the grass man/animal. They brought eyes and lots of accessories. Some of the children chose the sand saucer and they just brought flowers and a saucer. At the end of the day all the children went from class to class to look at everyone's creations. It was a fun and a exiting day for the Bethlehem Kids.
