TECHNOLOGY CENTRE
On the 15th of June the Tech Kids went to the Technology Centre on 4th Ave in town. We got shown around the centre and first we saw the place where they keep the laptops over night. They have everything to secure the place from burglaries. They haven’t had a burglary in 18 months. Then we went to see the Apple computers in the work shop (“The Light Side”). We got to see the inside of a desk top and a laptop computer. There’s about 5,000 little buttons in just a laptop. Laptops are more expensive because they have to be more compact. The other side of the shop is the Windows side of the shop (also known as “The Dark Side”). When we were on the Windows side we got shown the inside of a computer properly. The man showed us the hard drive and the memory board. We were allowed to keep the memory board as a present from the Techno Centre. At the end we got to take photos of each other on the Apple computer. It was funny because the photos were all squished up. There was one funny one of Matt because he looked like Bart Simpson. Then we went back to school and went back to class.
